Types of reflection

There are two types of reflection

  • Specular Reflection

  • Diffuse Reflection

In specular reflection, the image is clear because you have a flat, smooth and shiny surface. In diffuse reflection, you can't really make out there is an image in the first place. In all objects that have light falling on them and that aren't smooth and shiny, diffuse reflection is taking place

Laws of reflection

There are two laws of reflection

  • The angle of incidence is equal to the angle of reflection

  • The angle of incidence, angle of reflection and normal all lie on the same plane

Angle of incidence and Angle of reflection are denoted by θi\theta iand θr\theta rrespectively, where θ\thetais the greek letter theta, which means angle
